- قرآن کریم · 3:159فَبِمَا رَحۡمَةٖ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمۡۖ وَلَوۡ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ ٱلۡقَلۡبِ لَٱنفَضُّواْ مِنۡ حَوۡلِكَۖ فَٱعۡفُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمۡ وَشَاوِرۡهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمۡتَ فَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُتَوَكِّلِينَ ١٥٩به (برکت) رحمت الهی، در برابر آنان [= مردم] نرم (و مهربان) شدی! و اگر خشن و سنگدل بودی، از اطراف تو، پراکنده می‌شدند. پس آنها را ببخش و برای آنها آمرزش بطلب! و در کارها، با آنان مشورت کن! اما هنگامی که تصمیم گرفتی، (قاطع باش! و) بر خدا توکل کن! زیرا خداوند متوکلان را دوست دارد.
- قرآن کریم · 7:199خُذِ ٱلۡعَفۡوَ وَأۡمُرۡ بِٱلۡعُرۡفِ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ ١٩٩(به هر حال) با آنها مدارا کن و عذرشان را بپذیر، و به نیکی‌ها دعوت نما، و از جاهلان روی بگردان (و با آنان ستیزه مکن)!
- قرآن کریم · 15:85وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَأٓتِيَةٞۖ فَٱصۡفَحِ ٱلصَّفۡحَ ٱلۡجَمِيلَ ٨٥ما آسمانها و زمین و آنچه را میان آن دو است، جز بحق نیافریدیم؛ و ساعت موعود [= قیامت] قطعاً فرا خواهد رسید (و جزای هر کس به او می‌رسد)! پس، از آنها به طرز شایسته‌ای صرف‌نظر کن (و آنها را بر نادانیهایشان ملامت ننما)!
- قرآن کریم · 43:89فَٱصۡفَحۡ عَنۡهُمۡ وَقُلۡ سَلَٰمٞۚ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُونَ ٨٩پس (اکنون که چنین است) از آنان روی برگردان و بگو: «سلام بر شما»، امّا بزودی خواهند دانست!

- حدیث · Al-Kafi 2, no. 790 · Sahih (authentic) / Hasan (good) · al-Majlisi1. Ali ibn Ibrahim narrated from his father, from Ibn Abu Umair, from Hisham ibn Salim and others, from Abu Abdillah al-Sadiq (as), regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "Those will be given their reward twice for what they patiently endured." (28:54) He said, "For their patience in the face of taqiyya (dissimulation), and they repel evil with good." He said, "The good deed is taqiyya, and the evil deed is spreading rumors."

They are the honorable ones (who would not take what is rightfully theirs) from the wicked ones; the patient ones from the ignorant ones; and the good-doers from the evildoers.”
